Picture-a-day, SyncSpeed Style

UPDATE: All info on this project can now be found at my project page.

My friend Stephanie over at I Speak Film has declared she is going to take at least one photo a day for a month. I say bravo, Stephanie! Bravo. Not only is taking out the camera EVERY day hard to do, it’s even harder to get a photo good enough to post for the whole world to see. (Well, at least it’s hard for me.) The big trick for Stephanie is taking pictures with a camera that is kaput.

So, throwing all caution to the wind, I declare that I, too, will take a photo EVERY DAY for thirty days. AND, I’m going to post at least one of those pictures every day. Don’t doubt me.

I’m also challenging my other friends here at DPBlogs to do the same. So come on Chris and Amy, Lance, Jim, and Steve. Let’s see what chu got! Want to join the challenge? Post a comment with the start of your thirty day photography binge and I’ll link to you as well. Link love for everyone!

Now, the only matter left to decide is when to start. Despite my crazy schedule the next two weeks, I’m going to attempt this feat of awesome digital photography stamina starting this weekend. You have been warned.

If you’re going to do this, tag your photo with 30dayphoto so we can track everyone on technorati.

UPDATE:Chris at DSLRBlog is joining in on the fun.

You’re on…maybe. One photo every 30-days…I can handle that.

Cool. Jim is in. Now let’s gang up on Lance!

[...] Now that Stephanie’s started it, and Sync-speed’s dropped the gauntlet, I guess I’ll see what happens. O.K. sync-speed. Here’s a photo I shot today at dinnertime while testing my new R1 Nikon iTTL flash. Taken with my D70s with the built-in flash in commander-mode. As you can see, they have iTTL dialed in so well, you can hear the wine-cooler calling my name…. [...]

I’m in, too! I’ve been thinking about doing this for a while now. I just needed some kickin’ in the pants. OK, I think I’m with John on starting this weekend — more specifically on Friday.

Here we go, guys!

OK, I loaded my first daily pic. It’s eh, but it’s a start. I also created a separate page for Project-of-the-Month on i speak film.

Did you post the pic to your blog? I don’t see it.

Sure I’m in! I’ll start this weekend!

greetings, is the challenge available to anyone or just your friends? what about folks without a pro flickr account?

i actually started a year long photo-a-day project in february of 2005 (http://popmonkey.blogspot.com) but ran out of steam sometime in august (stopped posting even prior to that)). i restarted the project on january 1st of 2006 and so far have not missed a day, but the pics have yet to go up on the web (it’s been a personal challenge).

anyway, i’d be interested in joining you guys, i could “sync up” with the rest of the group this weekend and start uploading stuff.

2 questions:
. how do i “tag” a blog like blogspot? (i’m incredibly blog unsavvy)
. do i have to serve the photos from flickr?

popmonkey,

Sure! Anyone can join.

flickr: you don’t have to have a Pro account. The free acount is just fine. The main difference is the amount of photos you can store on it.

tagging: You want to tag your post, not the blog. Do you have categories? If categories can be used to tag.

Thanks for joining us!

[...] This is such a great idea and I must thank Stephanie of I speak film blog had, then John of SyncSpeed blog deciding to push a up a few hills inviting us all to do the same and then post the images on our blogs. [...]

hey thanks for the invite
check in on selfportraittuesday.blogspot.com next month to see everyone doing the same

Thanks for the invite. I’ve committed (or maybe I should be committed) to do a photo-a-day for a year, so it will be fun to join y’all.

i have a crappy digital camera
but i would love to join in on the challenge!

We don’t discriminate about cameras here. Anyone is welcome to join. Let me know when you start and I will add you to the project page.

Thought it was easy but foudn out that taking good creative pictures is not that easy. Trying my best.

Theoretically, I’ve set a trackback to my blog. Something seems to have gone wrong, or maybe you’ve got trackbacks disabled. Anyway, I’m in, starting April 1st.

Trackbacks are enabled. Not sure what went wrong, but I’ll add you to the project page. Thanks for joining!

I have been trying to post an original photo every day for months. They aren’t always brilliant, but it encourages me to keep my eyes open.

[...] have finished the 30 Day Photo Challenge. It has been an interesting and somewhat strange [...]
